The American-funk inspired tune features a funky bassline & killer organ vibe, mingled with a dirty, raw saxophone line and James Brown influenced vocals. In The Tortoise Loop Voodoocuts blends an infectious groove with pounding drum breaks and hypnotic vocals. A hot afro-latin joint not to be missed!
On the flip SoulBrigada takes things to a disco tip. Hustleman is a stunning afrofunk & disco gem from West Africa. The second track Madera is an afro-disco gem with a compelling Cape Verdean groove.

Starting things off we have Runnin’ Out, a mid-tempo memphis horn-led beauty of a track originally out in 1968. SoulBrigada take the original, toughen up the bottom end, add in kicks, claps and percussion and the odd filter, speed things up a tad and lengthen the track by a couple of minutes getting the most out of the effortless and gargantuan diva-esque vocal delivery…
On the flip we have another soulful treat with a killer rare groove cut from 1971. SoulBrigada extend the intro, add in drums, samples and effects all adding to a truly infectious groove and vocal that will have you screaming out for more…

We did a remix of ‚Arroz Con Pollo‘ by „Gilles Peterson’s Havana Cultura Band“ for the Remix-Contest hosted by Havana Cultura. With our SoulBrigada Cubanic Dub we made a midtempo (116 bpm) dancefloor stomper with a dubby flavour usin’ trippy piano samples & vocal snippets.
With our version we won the special price: an exclusive vinyl release of our track together with Rainer Trüby (Trüby Trio, Root Down / Freiburg)! Stay tuned for further information…

Finally there it is… today we received some fresh vinyls  of the brandnew Release on Poets Club Records (Germany): ‚Havana Cultura Remixes‘ (PCR 0546). On the EP there are three remixes of tracks by „Gilles Peterson’s Havana Cultura Band“ (that was originally rleased on GP’s ‚Brownswood Recordings‚). Our  ‚SoulBrigada Cubanic Dub‘ of ‚Arroz Con Pollo‘ is also our first remix and/or production on wax. This remix is a midtempo dacefloor stomper with a dubby flavour usin‘ trippy piano samples & vocal snippets. On the Flipside you can find a nice edit Rainer Trüby’s ‚Afrodisia‘ remix.
